Let it go
Let’s imagine the sky for a moment. Cloudless. “Cinderella” blue (as Gabby calls it).
Open. Bright. Easy. Clear. Free.
Now a cloud passes by. But instead of it gently sailing along as it will naturally do, what if it lingered? What if it stuck itself in the center of your bluescape?
Then another cloud arrives. Larger this time. Moving its way along until it meets the initial sticky cloud, tacking right alongside it.
Soon another. The same size, but a bit grayer in tone. Just as sticky as the first. Now shielding the large portion of blue from your sight.
Before you realize it, your full view is covered in clouds. Beginning in different sizes, shapes, and shades, but nestling together into one large, shadowy mass. Preventing you from seeing a single slice or spot of your beloved blue. The initial cloud indistinguishably molded into the cloudiness. You couldn’t possibly decipher where it ended and another cloud began.
The blue, though fully hidden, is still present. It is always present. Beneath the shadows and the stickiness, there is brightness, ease, clarity, and freedom.
You are the blue sky, Dear One.
Your true being is bright, clear, and free.
Sometimes, this beautiful being is masked. Hidden. Covered. By shadowy thoughts and cloudy experiences. And, just as in our skyscape imagery, these clouds can accumulate. One tricky moment hooking onto another until the possibility of clear skies seem out of view altogether.
But it is only hidden. And it can always be uncovered again. Always.
All you need to do is let go.
The clouds do not hold tightly onto us, but we hold tightly onto them. We grasp at our shadowy thoughts and cloudy experiences - playing them over and over in our minds and allowing them to take up precious space in our beings. Sacred space. As we loosen our grip, the clouds begin to pass. It is in their nature to sail right along. To come and to go.
And it is your choice when you allow them to.
You get to choose. You decide. You always do, mama.
The covered sky may not clear all at once. It will likely take time. And it too will take practice to loosen your grasp. Because it is so natural to hold on. To require remembering what once hurt such that we can avoid it in the future.
Your spirit knows the way and can guide you towards ease. Clarity. Freedom. Your soul wishes nothing more than to participate. To assist. To lighten your load. And to clear your view.
With each and every exhale, you can loosen our grasp. You can soften your being. You can invite your blue skies to return to view. They are always there. You simply need to return your attention to their presence.
With intention, you get to choose. You decide.
You always do, Dear One.
